Love More
Some of you know, as I shared the news with my JMT friends, that my mom tripped and fell on a parking cement block last week while going to a restaurant.
It was a beautiful day and I was so happy my parents had a good time. They don’t live in California but came to visit after a longtime.
It was a horrible accident and it will never be forgotten but you would be surprised if I confess I am grateful for the incident the way it happened.
You see, my mom has two fractures on her left hand, has 6 stitches on her forehead, has broken bones in her noise and face and bruised all over. How can I be possibly grateful then?
I am grateful because it could have been much worse! I know God intervened and she didn’t hit her head to the cement or she didn’t break her pelvis! I am grateful she was here with me and I can care for her. I am grateful I am able to be her caretaker when she needs me. I am grateful for the time I can spend with her, although it could have been happier.
I am grateful for the lesson this has taught me and that is how precious she is and how life is unpredictable.
If you have a parent you are able to visit whenever you want, you are the luckiest person alive! I lived away from my parents the majority of my lifetime and that is for sure one of my biggest regrets. I know you might laugh but it’s true.
So, go and love on your mother, father, or whoever is like a parent to you. Be grateful for the time God has given you to see them, listen to their advice and have tea together.
Life is short and is only worth living when we love with all of our heart.
