The Magic of Imagination
The power of Imagination is incredible. Try this exercise. I hope it will be useful.
I am sharing this from My NeuroCoach:
"A ONE-WORD CURE FOR ANY WORRY, FEAR, OR DOUBT: OPTIMISM! Try this experiment for the next 2-24 hours.
Each time you feel anxious or have a worrisome thought, write down a brief optimistic phrase - an affirmation - and repeat it. Then find ONE WORD to capture your optimism. Examples:
Worried about improving your financial state? Write down "I can generate more income.” Then repeat about 10 times, a word that captures your optimism, like “money.” Your brain is programmed to seek rewards and wealth, but you have to stimulate it to look for opportunities.
Feeling shy? Write down "I'm really looking forward to meeting some new cool people." Find a word like “friendship” or “intimacy” or “love” and repeat it whenever you feel lonely. Your brain is also programmed to form healthy social bonds with others, but you have to prime it do look for potential alliances.
Use this post to state your negative thought/feeling and then turn it into a positive, affirmative, optimistic phrase. You'll instantly feel more energy, interest, excitement, and desire to pursue something that just caused you to put on the brakes!
That’s the power that your imagination has – your frontal lobes – to stimulate the motivation circuits in your brain."
And let me tell you, IT WORKS!
